Salmon Race Begins!

Join us to help save the Pacific Northwest's iconic salmon and steelhead – the fish orca need to survive!
We are participating in Survive the Sound. This online game uses funny fish avatars to represent real steelhead (a fish similar to salmon) that were tracked during research efforts led by a local nonprofit, Long Live the Kings.
The tracking data lets scientists understand why the fish are dying.

Come pick your favorite fish at SurvivetheSound.org and join my team, Cottonwood Loves Salmon.
A larger team increases our chances of winning with the most surviving fish.
From May 1-5, we'll watch the fish migrate from their natal stream to the Pacific Ocean and see who survives.

This week we are celebrating our School Volunteers.
Cottonwood is so lucky to have amazing volunteers.
Please stop by the office this week for a treat and gift.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving us your time!
We are so thankful

get cleared Volunteer
CKSD is moving to an online volunteer clearance process!   Starting Monday, October 31st all volunteer applications and clearance will be completed through Raptor.  As you know, CKSD currently uses Raptor for our visitor management program in all schools across the District.

Why are we moving to an online system?

  • Utilizing an online system is more efficient for volunteers completing the application as well as those who process applications in CKSD.
  • Yay to no more papers!
  • We already use Raptor for building visitors.
  • Raptor can provide a more in-depth background check.
  • Our current internal system, Sharepoint, is no longer able to support our volunteer data.

As part of the rollout, we will be placing our volunteer application clearance process on hold from October 19th-October 30th.   During this time, we will not be accepting any new volunteer applications, nor will we be clearing any volunteers.   Thank you for your understanding!
