Philosophy
Make Your Day
Supports the belief when children take responsibility for their actions, they take ownership of their behavior.
Make Your Day
provides a positive system for rewarding student effort calling upon a non-punitive methodof dealing with inappropriate behavior. Its purpose is to foster in children responsibility for self, respect forthe opinions of others, and good communication skills.
Make Your Day
emphasizes the importance of student DIGNITY and NATURAL CONSEQUENCES. Make Your Day is not a controlling technique, nor is it a discipline program. Instead, it allows children to make decisions which result in natural and logical consequences….not punishment…that immediately follow both appropriate and inappropriate choices.
CHOICE is an important component of Make Your Day. It is important that children are allowed to make both appropriate and inappropriate choices. Children have the opportunity to assess their academic and behavioral performance frequently, allowing time for error and for recovery.
